Before the end of September, the United States Social Security Administration will send checks to Disability beneficiaries on four different days. Also, the maximum amount this September will be different from September in previous years. So keeping this in mind when planning our finances is really important.
If we know the day we can get our new Social Security Disability check, and we also know how much money we will have available, organizing everything related to money will be much easier. Therefore, we should pay close attention to all of this information about Social Security.
It is also true that some disability beneficiaries do not get another monthly check, so this is their only source of income. In that case, we need to know when we will have the money available, since we will not be able to access a different payment. However, SSDI recipients may also get other payments such as Supplemental Security Income or SNAP Food Stamps.
Disability Benefit Dates and Maximum Payments
In the month of September we will have three other different Disability Benefit payments. One of these payments has already been sent, as the first of the payments for this benefit in September was on the 3rd of the month. Retirees with a check from before 1997 got this payment on that exact day.
But there are more payment days in the month and they are as follows:
- September 11th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- September 18th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. Birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month are also required.
- September 25th. Social Security payment for retirees after May 1997. It is also necessary to have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of the month.
Thus, those Americans with a Disability check after May 1997 have access to payment on any of these days. It is the beneficiary’s birthday that determines whether we get the payment earlier or later.
As for the maximum amount, the COLA has made it so that in September 2024 we can have a Disability benefit of up to $3,822. Even so, this payment has reached this amount since the beginning of the year. However, not all Americans can access such a large check. Each citizen has a different benefit that depends on his or her work history.
