Getting every single SSDI check that the Social Security Administration sends to United States citizens each month is impossible. Every retiree gets his or her check on a specific day of the month. If we get payment on one day, we cannot get a check on a different day.
For that reason, knowing the Social Security payment schedule for all payments is important. Best of all, SSDI and other types of retirement benefits reach beneficiaries in the same way. You only need to meet a few requirements, but the type of benefit doesn’t matter in order to meet them.
Who gets the new August SSDI check?
In order to get the new August 2024 check, it is mandatory to have an SSDI or other type of retirement payment accepted, as well as meet a couple of requirements. These requirements are mandatory, so if we do not meet them we cannot get next week’s check.
The payment day will be on August 28th and it will be the last of the retirement payments for the entire month. After that check there will be another payment, but it will not be for retirement and, in fact, it is an extra check that does not belong to the August payment schedule.
The requirements for this payment are:
- Have SSDI check since after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Just by meeting these requirements, you are eligible for the payment, but you do not have to have an SSDI check. Any other type of benefit is valid to qualify for this August 28th payment.
Two SSDI payments in the last week of August
If we are eligible for the August 28th, 2024 payment and also have Supplemental Security Income accepted, we can have two payments in the last week of August. To do so, we must activate Direct Deposit as a collection method.
If we meet all these requirements we will have two payments. The first one will be the retirement payment, either SSDI or any other type. The second of the payments will be the Supplemental Security Income check, which will be sent on August 30th, 2024.
This benefit payment is actually the September SSI check, but the payment is sent early because the 1st of the month is a weekend. In such cases, the payment is advanced so that all beneficiaries have it as soon as possible.
