Before the end of March 2025, the Social Security Administration will send a new retirement check to eligible beneficiaries. So if you have an accepted retirement check, you should know that you will soon be able to access this new payment and enjoy a better budget, although it is advisable to be well aware of the mandatory conditions.
Retirement payments always arrive on four different days, although each retiree receives one of the payments each time. It is not possible to receive two Social Security payments in one month except on very few occasions, so if you have already received your check in March, you will not be able to get it again on this next payday.
The payment on the last day of March 2025 will only be for group 4 pensioners. And 62-year-old pensioners can be part of this group, but it is mandatory to look at the conditions for being able to receive the payment. It is not possible to obtain this benefit if we do not meet each and every one of the requirements, so if we are not in this group it will mean that we are in a different group of pensioners.
Requirements for the new payment for retirees
Retirees aged 62 who are part of group 4 will be able to receive this benefit. But not only that, but any other retiree who is part of this group 4 of retirees will also be able to receive the payment without problems. Only if we are not part of group 4 will we not be able to receive this check.
The requirements to be part of group 4 of retirees are:
- Your birthday must fall between the 21st and 31st of any given month.
- You must have been receiving a Social Security benefit since after May 1997.
However, this does not guarantee that we will receive the payment on the same day it is sent, since in order to receive the check on the day the Administration sends it, we must have Direct Deposit activated. By doing this, we will receive the payment on March 26th itself, but otherwise we will have to wait a few days until we finally receive it in our checking account.
Maximum Social Security checks in March 2025
The maximum Social Security payments in March 2025 reach $5,180 for retirees by age. Of course, it is mandatory to have maximized the check in order to reach that figure. Retirees who wait until age 70 to apply for Social Security can reach that figure. Otherwise, we will not be able to obtain this high payment.
In any case, if we meet the requirements we won’t have to do anything to get this check, since the payment is sent automatically. Meeting the requirements is enough to get the Social Security payment on March 26, 2025.
