Citizens of the United States who have already accepted a retirement payment will be able to enjoy Social Security throughout the month of April. However, it is true that we are facing a retirement payment schedule divided into four days, which means that we have to check directly when we will receive each of these payments.
If we have accepted the payment we won’t have to worry, as we will get it throughout the month. But if we want to know at what specific time of the month we will be able to receive this new check, what we have to do is check the calendar perfectly. Thanks to this system, retirees can live better, as they have the possibility to mark the day on which the Administration sends them the monthly check.
Who will receive Social Security in the next few hours?
In order to be eligible to receive this new Social Security payment with checks for $1,720, we must bear in mind that we have to be part of group 1. This group is the one that will receive the first of the month’s payments, but the collection method is key to receiving the payment in the next few hours or having already received it yesterday.
It is important, therefore, to bear in mind these two requirements to get your Social Security payment today:
- Be part of the group 1 of retirees.
- Not have Direct Deposit activated.
Each of the beneficiaries belongs to a different group depending on the year of retirement and the birthday. Thus, group 1 retirees are those who have a check from before May 1997. Similarly, the birthday does not affect this group 1, since it is a characteristic of groups 2, 3 and 4 of retirees.
How much will I receive from Social Security in April 2025?
Despite the fact that COLA has had an effect on Social Security benefits in 2025, the truth is that the checks in April will be the same amount as in the previous months of the year. Therefore, the payment you collected in March and February, for example, will be the one you get in April.
In the rest of the payments in 2025 we will have the same amount, so at least we will be able to know perfectly well if we really have enough budget for our expenses or we will be able to opt to receive other extra checks such as SSI or SNAP Food Stamps.
The payment can be either $1,720 or $5,180, although the latter amount is the maximum and, therefore, it is difficult for a beneficiary to obtain Social Security of that nature.
